Laser & Light-based Treatments
Photofacials
What is a photofacial?
A Photofacial, also known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), is one of the newer forms of facial rejuvenation. Unlike lasers, which use intense, focused light, IPL is intense broadband light. Photofacials can be used to treat Rosacea, smooth the skin, reduce pore size, remove age spots, redness, and freckles. It is a safe, non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type.
What is the treatment like?
Before treatment, a cold gel is usually applied and you will be given protective eyewear. During treatment, a physician or trained staff member applies the surface of the IPL hand piece to the skin. Light is delivered to the skin surface in pulses. Each session usually lasts about 20 minutes, and you should return to normal activity immediately afterwards.
What results can I expect?
After only one treatment, your skin will have a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will fade. Pore sizes will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment. Patients with rosacea will see a progressive decrease in redness with every treatment.
