Vail Dermatology was founded in 2004 by Karen Nern, MD, a Board Certified Dermatologist, to meet the medical and surgical skin care needs of the Eagle Valley. The physicians and staff at Vail Dermatology treat all conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Skin by Vail Dermatology was formed in 2008 to meet the cosmetic needs of patients in a relaxed, comfortable, and professional setting. Currently, our providers include Dr. Karen Nern and specially trained dermatologic Physician Assistant Sarah Youngblood. In the fall of 2010, another location was added in Basalt, Colo. to further extend accessibility to professional, expert skin care physicians. More recently, we've added a retail store in Vail Village.

As a natural extension of our dermatology services, we offer a variety of cosmetic procedures. These treatments include spider vein therapy, Botox, collagen, Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, chemical peels, laser hair removal and laser skin resurfacing. Only our Board Certified physicians give Botox and filler injections to ensure the highest quality of skill and excellent results.

Our experienced team of dermatologists and physician assistants also includes licensed estheticians, Geri Dellacroce and Jessica Ballentine in Edwards (near Vail) and Nikki Stephens in Basalt (near Aspen). We carry medical grade skin care products (such as the respected Obagi, Skin Medica, Epionce, Carita, and Skin Ceuticals lines) and provide services to complement the procedures that our physicians perform.
